Middle block, middle punch (chudan uke, chudan zuki)

In this video Chudan Uke is used to block a middle punch (Chudan Zuki) followed by a counter attack with Chudan Zuki.

How to perform a middle block, middle punch (chudan uke, chudan zuki)

The attacker steps forward in Zenkutsu Dachi and attacks with a right middle punch (Chudan Zuki). Block his punch with a left middle block (Chudan Uke) then counter attack with a right middle punch (Chudan Zuki).

Middle block, middle punch (chudan uke, chudan zuki): points to remember

  • By blocking with your left arm to his right arm you leave his body open for your counter attack.
  • If you’re too far away to strike the opponent after your block, simply step toward him to deliver your counter attack.

    Keep your hands up sensei. And no one will punch like that in the street. So the attacker should snap the punch back to see if the technique will work then.
