“crunches do a better job of working the abs” - if you meam the isolate the abs more - you are right - but does that make them better? The Iliopsoas muscle group is use in addition to the abs in a sit-up - that is the muscle that connects the thigh to the spine through the hip area - this muscle is esential to a high chamber needed for kicking so in that reguard the sit-up is better
